yeah, sure they do, just thought someone from eset may have wanted to give an official response, seeing as at least one of them is posting to other threads (at the time i posted anyway).
rumpstah says the new version has a bug fix, but may be there are other fixes/changes too

No, it's just that one bug that has been fixed.

    Hi
What is the difference between auto update and manual installation of v2.50.19.over v2.50.16. They both do the exact same job aren't they?
    Thanks

Since I'm not suffering from the 'bug' that the latest version is designed to 'fix', I assume I don't need to d/l the latest program update?

I'm happy to wait for any update that arrives automatically with the definitions.

I just updated v2.50.16 to 2.50.19 w/o uninstalling. Now, for some reason, my scheduled scan fails to run (using the execution of an external application method).

Uninstalling and reinstalling to see if it fixes the problem ...

    Still no good.
Guess I may need to try going back to v2.50.16 next...
    Worked fine with that version.

Try emailing support. The email address and how to contact is on Eset website. Or maybe Blackspear will see your post.

    OK. Here goes.

    /local /adware /ah /all /arch+ /clean /cleanmode /delete /heur+ /log+ /mailbox+ /pack+ /quarantine /scanboot+ /scanmbr+ /scanmem+ /scroll+ /sfx+ /unsafe /wrap+ /quit+

Funny that all of the other scheduled tasks work fine. Right now, the "On Demand Scanner" task seems to be running OK.

    Thanks all.

    Hi Hexaguano:

    The options look fine.

Are you saying the task does not run?

    What is the triggering event?

Have you attempted to delete the task and add it back?

Why do you have the On-Demand Scanner task and the Command Line task?

With the addition of the "Run this profile in cleaning mode" the Command Line scan is really only necessary for troubleshooting.

    ;)

Correct. The task does not run. I can set a time for it to run and the time passes by with nothing happening. I tried deleting the task then adding back first. Then I did an uninstall/reinstall of v2.50.19 (I also deleted the Eset folder). This is odd. It seems that every other scheduled task works OK. Both 2.50.XX installs were originally over a previous install.

I'm running WinXP Pro SP2 / fully updated. I'm also running Process Guard v3.150, but I don't think it is a factor as I was also running it with the previous version (I can start NOD32.exe with no issues)...

I was just trying the "On Demand Scanner" as a test. I don't normally use it. I prefer the external application method.

    Hi Hexaguano:

If you right click on the task and choose "Run now" does it start up?

The next question is.. have you turned off Process Guard? ;)

    Hi rumpstah

I forgot to mention before that yes, the task will run using "Run now". It did so before I reinstalled as well.

I disabled PG and set a time to scan several minutes ahead of my current time. No success.

    Hi Hexaguano:

Is the task set to "Run the task as soon as possible"?

This is the time when a Centra session sure would be handy. ;)

It was set to "Wait until the next scheduled time". I changed it to "Run as soon as possible" set the time to run a few minutes ahead and again it didn't run.

rumpstah, thanks for all of your help. It's getting late here and unfortunately, I have to go to work early in the a.m.
