To recover an image during boot up you have to press the F11 key. I use a cordless keyboard and mouse and they do not become active until well into the boot up procedure, is there a way around this or is the only way to plug in a corded keyboard.
    Many thanks...Tex

Good question. I do not believe that this is possible, but I look forward to what support might have to say about this. Unless the boot CD has drivers for the wireless devices, it likely won't work.

Technically, it is not really about wireless devices. E.g. I use a wireless Logitech keyboard + trackball, but the receiver is plugged into the ordinary PS/2 and mouse ports on the motherboard, so the BIOS et al see them as legacy devices.

My transmitter plugs into the USB port so is not available at start of boot up.

    Hi Tex,

Some USB transmitters, keyboards and mice can be used in conjunction with a USB to PS2 adapter. Can yours?

    Regards

My previous mouse had a USB connector with an adaptor to plug it into the mouse port, I have tried to use this adaptor in tke mouse and keyboard ports but with no joy.

    Hi again Tex,

OK, at least that possibility has been eliminated.

You haven't said which motherboard/BIOS you're using. Mine is a Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro2 with an Award BIOS. Under "Integrated Peripherals" in the BIOS setup there are options to enable/disable both the USB keyboard and USB mouse support. It's worth checking whether your motherboard/BIOS has a similar capability and, if so, what the settings are.

    Regards

    Hello Tex,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please create Acronis Bootable CD using "Create Bootable Rescue Media" tool, boot the computer with it and let us know the result. You will get into the same Acronis True Image stand alone mode as you can get when you press F11 button.

    Thank you.

    Hi Menorcaman
My motherboard is a Time computer MS6741 with AMI version 07.00T BIOS.
In the integrated peripherals section it has no mention of Mouse/Keyboard.It does have USB Device legacy supporto_O which is disabled.

Try changing it to "Enabled", save and exit from your BIOS and see what happens. If it's no different just change it back again.

USB Legacy Support should be enabled if you have a cordless keyboard and mouse. It's needed so that you can press the appropriate key to go into BIOS and for any other situations where you need keyboard access prior to boot up of the operating system. Hopefully you have tried it and it works for you?

Good news!! Glad we were able to help.
