Is Steganos Security Suite 5.0 any good?

i carry a lot of sensitive info on my laptop... and I would like to be sure even it gets stolen.. my data will be safe or self destruct...or something..

Can XP pro's security do something similar by itselfo_O I am also worry that if someone tech savvy will remove the drive and hack into it to the info....

I rather not use third party software if possible..(to keep things simple and less taxing to cpu)

so far my regiment is ... password lock laptop... password lock xp log on...
and maybe password lock some critical folders... would this enougho_O

Would Steganos SS 5 type of software be problem with True Image to make complete clone??

    thanks for any advice...

As this thread was a duplicate of one posted already in the Acronis True Image section, and because it covered both a True Image question and a separate Steganos Security Suite question, I've moved it to the Privacy Software forum and cut the True Image question out.

The duplicate thread that has the True Image question is here:

    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=75099

In case anyone replies answering the True Image question here, I'll take care of splitting those off and moving them to the other thread.

Re: Please Help with Cloned HDD without SWAP Space

    Hi, roxx1

I have never used it so cannot advise.

All very easy to bypass. [with a little knowledge]

    This might help:- SecureIDE™

    Thank you for your advice....
I did read up on the Stegano thread... but.. not much info... and I don't know what KAV is....

hmmm.. anyways... so the password lock method doesn't really work.....

Can anyone suggest most popular and/or reputable and/or best security solution (software or hardware) for Laptop with 2.5" hdd (XP)
Of course I am looking for something priced reasonable... $100 or less....
Steganos Security Suite seemed to fit the bill.. but I would much rather have something from Symantec or even ZoneAlarm.... any suggestions will be appreciated

The secureIDE seem promising for my desktop machine... I wish i knew about this before doing full software install to my RAID....
