Windows Update & Help and Support

I can not get my Windows Update 2 work.>It will come up~Stating Done @ the bottom of the screen but nothing will B witihin the Screen?
This happens Anyway I try to get to it.
And my Help and Support does not display anything for the System Infomation
+1 More>My CD Drives are not regonized by Win Xp Pro
