Can anyone tell me if the free versions of Ewido & A2 antitrojan programs scan archives?
If yes, what are the supported formats?

As regards Ewido, only the paid version or the 14 day-trial version can scan archived files.

No it won't; but you could try the Beta version of A2, that used to scan in archives.
