Default MRU Blaster & XP Home Edition

Hi:

Used MRU Blaster for the first time and I see it
has cleared the list of the 10 mru applications from
the START menu. How come the lst is not regenerating
itself based on what applications I am running. It remains
blank even though I have set MRU Blaster to run every
8 hours. Is there some way to get the Start Menu MRU
list in Win XP Home Edition to work again??

regards and thanks

Hi Dan,

It will take time (even a couple days) for that list to regenerate, and it will only get the chance to regenerate if you disable (uncheck) the option to clear the "Windows UserAssist MRUs" in the Settings window.

Here's an old thread by Javacool on this same issue:

Thanks for the quick reply. I have a dumb question though,
how does one access the settings to change the user
assist MRU? Is it a registry hack, another Javacool application,
a windows XP utility? Just point me in the right direction. :-)

thanks

Hi Dan,

I presume you're referring to the applications listed at the left-hand side when you click the start-button.
If you'd like you can drag the shortcuts for the applications, you want easy access to, over there.
If you look closely you'll notice a barely visible line under your e-mailclient etc. As long as you drop the shortcuts above that line they will stay there, even after you clean the user assist MRU.

HTH,

Pieter
