Default Cool WWW Search MSOffice

Spybot S&D has found this twice. Has anyone heard of it or is it a bug in Spybot that keeps finding it?

Hi GRK,

You could ask on Spybot S&D's support forum: Net-Integrations

But it depends on where this entry is starting from whether it is CWS or not.

A few links to look into:
http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/p...x?id=453077867
http://castlecops.com/startuplist-6102.html

With this type of suspected infection, it is advised to followup with having a HijackThis log reviewed which would rule out any false/positives.

Make sure you have the latest version of HijackThis. You can find a download link here: HijackThis version 1.99.1

Then take the Hijackthis scan log to either Net-Integrations, or one of the sites listed here that handle log review and have a Hijackthis Expert analyse the log. They will advise you if you are infected with CWS and how to remove it.

Please be sure and read the site's FAQ's and log posting requirements before you post your hijackthis log.

Let us know how you make out as it will help other's who may have this same alert from Spybot S&D.

Regards,

snap

I have had this turn up twice now as well during a Spybot scan. MS Anti-spyware and Adaware are not picking this up. What does this spyware do exactly, does it slow down opening of web pages as a result?
