    as a new version of internet security has come out does that mean the next version of the antivirus is coming soono_O

    any news on the new antiviruso_O?

    No, it's a first beta, so more than likely it's another 2-4 months before final release.

    With the amount of features "coming soon", this looks more of an alpha.

    Registry Guard
    Anti-Spy
    Parental Control

    Gui is a bit iffy in places.

    Resource usage is so low! I installed everything (modular structure btw..) and it places 2 process in the memory usaging 7mb (+14mb VM) and 2.5mb (+5mb VM).

    Congrats Kaspersky Labs!

    Edit: Rescue disk is also "coming soon"

    But I wonder if it will stay as light as this in the final version!

    And with all these features, it may well turn out very expensive!

    However, overall it bodes well for the standalone KAV 6 ;)

    Has an "f-secure" style GUI, seems skinable too :D

    I think ill be beta testing this, could do with another free anti-virus in addition to arcavir :D

    been running this for a couple of hours now. must say im massively impressed. considering its probably a pre-beta its fantastic. the kav5 series wasnt half as bugfree even when the first final versions were released

    Hmmmm....

    It months for KAV 5 to get it together. IMO, the release candidate that came out towards the end of last year was the first good one.

    Kaspersky's firewall has never been that hot, so it will take a new AV version to get me excited.

    It seems very good! :)

    The Kaspersky is going on the right way...

    The Web Anti-Virus is like the HTTP Scanner of NOD32 and the Web Shield of avast!?

    How are the resources usage (CPU and RAM)?

    Web Anti-Virus only seems to scan internet explorer... maybe this will change by final?

    Resource usage is very low... little drag and it places 2 process in the memory usaging 7mb (+14mb VM) and 2.5mb (+5mb VM) (reduces even further after time)

    When avast! introduced skins,just few of us liked them. I wonder what kind of response will be about skins in KAV. Although they don't seem to be as global as in avast!...

    it seems to be using far less memory than before, about 10 mb on my machine. not sure about cpu usage cos im running a full scan right now. the web av intercepted my eicar.zip b4 it reached my hdd it seems, not sure what the nod and avast thingies are doing

    theres an option to disable the startup scan, and thats good cos with the startup scan enabled it took ages to startt he machine

    candle, the firewall can be unchecked during install. thats what i did, so dont know what its like
