Who knows whassup with their updating. Last week it was an update a day but I think I have only seen one virus signature update in the last 5 days. I bought a license for FProt for my not so high powered laptop and it works great but this sporadic update business rather puzzles me. I know they have a top notch staff working for them. If worse comes to worse I'll just get another license to DrWeb and put it on the old laptop, the good doctor has served me very well for a couple years on my brawny desktop.

Are you referring to Bagle.BM and Bagle.BN? If so F-Prot covers them since March 1st.

McAfee until quite recently was updating every few days so it's not that unusual. You can have no updates for a few days then get 3 in the space of a few hrs.

The likes of KAV, DrWeb, NOD, AntiVir update daily or more often. Are they wasting bandwidth by updating so frequently? Or are F-prot & others who persistently update less often shooting craps with the protection afforded to their customers? Unless I am missing something, it's gotta be one way or the other.

And WHERE is that major program upgrade that the Frisk folks said would be issued by the end of 2004 or very early in 2005?

Ah yes, I had almost forgotten about the mysterious and much anticipated F-Prot version 4. It will be interesting to see how it performs when it comes out, if it comes out, when it comes out etc..etc :D
