    Hi,
I am having a problem with the spywareblaster 3.2 setup. Everytime I try to install it, I get this error message:
    C:\programfiles\SpywareBlaster\spywareblaster.exe

An error occurred while trying to rename a file in the destination directory:MoveFile failed:code5. Access denied.

Can anybody walk me through this problem?
    Thank you for your time.

Have you read or attempted the FAQ ?

It should apply to any operating system....and the XP question was asked in case that would be important info for us to have.

Yes, I did go thru the FAQ but I didn't really fine an answer. I did go to the link you first left me and I going to attempt to install in Safe Mode.

Do you think that will be okay?

    Thanks.

    Hi,
I want to thank you for this link:

This FAQ---> Troubleshooting: "An error occurred while trying to replace the existing file: DeleteFile failed; code 5. Access is denied."
I restarted my computer in safe mode and I then had a chance to install spywareblaster. Thank you for your help.
One other question, if I can ask, I am not running Mozilla Firefox on my computer. Will I need to download this program for extra protection? I am using Ad aware free version instead. Will this do?
    Thanks again.

Yeah....that's why the instructions in the FAQ advise safe mode....if all else fails.

    said in FAQ:
    • "If that still does not remedy the problem, you will need to reboot into Safe Mode and try running the SpywareBlaster installer from there."

Glad it all worked for and Your more than Welcome.
