Unsubscribing and removing threads from list

Sorry to be a bother.
How do i unsubscribe from threads and remove the thread from my list of same?
I have read the FAQ and dont quite understand.

Hi Longboard,

Click the User CP link: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/usercp.php?
Click the View all Subscribed Threads: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/subscription.php?do=viewsubscription&folderid=all
Then put checkmarks behind the ones you want to remove, scroll down and set the drop-down box to "Delete Subscription" and click Go.

That should do it.

I subscribed to this thread and saved it in my Subscribe folder. I then visited that Subscribed thread and selected Unsubcribe in the bottom left corner of the thread.
