Please forgive me, as I am new here. A friend of mine told me she had this "me naked" folder on her hard drive and "has no idea" where it came from. I seem to remember this as being an email worm, and some checking, confirmed it as best I could. I have the details for a registry edit, but if I can't get to her house to do it directly, is there a simple script or program out there that will fix it for her? If not, I guess I'll just go and fix her reg.
Thanks to all for consideration. PS: Will stinger do it? ![]() |

Hi Blean1, welcome to Wilders.
Stinger may work (best in Safe Mode), you could also have your friend try the comprehensive steps found in General Cleaning. If these steps do not resolve her situation, she will need to download and run “Hijack This” found here and post the log at one of the forums found at A-SAP. The two bigger forums for HijackThis log processing, (meaning they process more log threads each day than most others) are: SpywareInfo.com and CastleCops.com. Be sure to read their posting policy in the links at their log review forum sections prior to posting. The steps mentioned in General Cleaning use software that ought to be part of your security, as an absolute minimum. Once your system is clean, please don’t hesitate to ask further about using these and other security software to protect your computer. Hope this helps... Let us know how you go. Cheers ![]()

Thank you Blackspear...I didn't expect such a quick reply, and not one so comprehensive. Thank you very much.
PS: I like your tagline..."Illegitimus non carborundum". I've always felt that way, just didn't know what it was in Latin. ![]() |
