Question Help with AVG 7 Pro

I recently bought AVG 7 Pro. I was wondering how to configure it so that is detects files downloaded from the internet (ex. eicar.com, or downloaded archives.) This is a very important feature for me. Any help would be appreciated.

Default Re: Help with AVG 7 Pro

I only use AVG Free Edition so don't know if this helps.

In order to get AVG's resident shield (real-time scanner) to scan infectable files that are being written to local disk in real time without any access from a user you have to choose On-close scanning (as pic) but as far as I know AVG's resident shield does not scan archive files (.zip, .rar, .cab) in real time just because it useless and impact on resources. IMHO

For me, I use default AVG's resident shield and I don't care about that because if (known) malware are being executed or extracted from archive files then AVG's resident shield should detect them before it does harm anyway.
