Hello,
I am using WinXP and I.E. 6.0 . When I had I.E. 5.5 and Win9x there was an add-on to place websites into trusted or restricted security zones. Is there a similar utility for I.E. 6? Thanks. |

Still is there in the same way.
I have translate as i have no english browser version: tools > internet options > security > trusted zone icon > websites button > add them with the https:// (s from security) and ok For the restricted zone same place, next "restricted zone" icon and add those you want to restrict there. You might like to review your security settings for each zone in the same place. In OE you might like to decide to have all your emails in the restricted zone or the general internet zone; setting this here is important as both IE and OE are so much migled among each other! I even found out if i want to be able to see the source of web sites i need in OE in a new message to enable source editing in the "view" and so there are many more stunning things to find out.

If you mean the addon from Microsoft, it still works fine in IE6. I use it.
There is also something from Jason's Toolbox that will let you add/remove sites from the restricted zone before you even click the link. I can't remember his web site address at the moment though, but the program is called Trust Setter.

No disrespect meant to Jason, but does anyone know where I can download the Microsoft security zone add-on? Thanks.

For IE 5 (not sure if this would work with IE6 as I dont't use it)
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 Power Tweaks Web Accessories http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/...ss/default.asp X-Setup provides similar functionality in it's tweaks http://www.xteq.com/products/xset/ Or you can simply double click the zone icon in the bottom right corner of your browser to bring up the security tab where you can add/remove sites. Regards, CrazyM

I've been using a modification of a reg hack I found at DSLR a while back. It lets you click a toolbar button to add the currently loaded site into either the restricted or trusted zone.
http://www.spywareinfoforum.com/downloads/stuff/zonebuttons.zip If the 2k/xp install gives an error, try changing Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 to REGEDIT4. It should work as is though. Make sure you are logged in as administrator before doing it.

This is the one I am aware of but with XP and IE6 I don't think so.
