Best Spam Filter

In your opinion, what is the best spam filter and what is so good about it?

I am currently trying out Spam Inspector

I can only think of Mailwasher Professional.

I've been considering a filter for a wjile. From what I've read Mailwasher Free is highly rocommended. My spam seems to have died off somewhat lately (maybe theyve takna Christmas break ) If it picks up in the New Year I will prob go for the Free version

The keyword is
"bayesian filtering"
Why? because it works for 98% spam easily (and its still in the early stages of development)!!!!!!!
I think there were two early programs... (from some blog I forgot about)

Go for a "Bayesian spam filter" based on a "naive bayesian classifier" or NBC
the only example i know is...
PopFile... an open source spam filter...

If you one of those people still using outlook, take a look at Inboxer which has a very good success rate against spam. I am now using Barca with its built spam filter and it is also pretty effective.

I just use cableone internet and their spam filter is outstanding, I don't get any spam on the mail I recieve through their server at all. I don't even use a spam filter after seeing how well theirs worked.

P.S.
this is not a cableone commercial or endorsement, just my personal experience

My earlier post consisted of programs with bayesian filtering. Some even use combo methods including open relay blacklists and standard pattern matching, Yahoo domainkeys, etc etc

Spamihilator, K9, SpamPal are free spam filters and work really well. I've also registered Spam Blackout, Mailwasher Pro & SpamEater Pro & a lot of others , but that was before a Bayesian filter got built into Poco/Barca. When running at 99,40%, who needs another.

If you want a PIM with email only Bloomba (no longer available) and Barca can give you this.

hmm... JB won't like this

SpamPal does not work with:

* AOL
* Hotmail
* Yahoo
* Juno
* MSN
* Or any other proprietary mail system.

Edit: Can anyone gimme.......
* A mail checker that has support for Yahoo/Hotmail/GMail and webmail
** That sits neatly in my tray
***Doesn't have a tacky interface
So far, not much has been a complete solution..

PIM = Personal Information Manager, meaning an agenda, tasks, planner and so on ... like Outlook, including the email client.
Make a task/appointment from an email received. Get organized.

Another good FREE spam blocker is PopFile.
