Default How does spyware blaster actually work?

How does spyware blaster actually work? It says its always running in the background, but where? I downloaded it, updated it, enable full protection, and what? Is that it? I never need to screw around with it again, apart from when it needs updated?

Thanks

Just to address any questions that might not be answered in the link provided above:

Nothing runs in the background, and you don't need to do anything else except check for updates at least once a week (or purchase the AutoUpdate functionality so you don't have to remember) and enable all new protection.
