No new definitions since 22.1.04. Is this correct? What is the date of the latest definitions - is there a problem with definitions?

Hello Xylophone
yes, that is correct, the latest updates for SpywareGuard are of 22.1.04 no, nothing is wrong with the definition update system of SpywareGuard... ''The reason for less frequent updates with SpywareGuard is that much of its detection abilities are heuristics in nature. (Basically this means it doesn't need a specific signature for every spyware it catches, simply an overall pattern or approach-used, which it can identify and then trigger off of.) So, SpywareGuard works for many of the newer versions of the same spyware installers even without adding "signatures" for them.'' <(Quoted from LowWaterMark) An update is made when there are new items coming out that are not detected that way. I hope that explanation was usefull to you, it certainly was to me!!! hehe... regards, LJM P.S: somewhere, I think there's a recommendation for you to check for SpywareGuard updates once a month.. |
