    Hello all,

I already have a couple of screen capture programs I really like, but neither one can do this. I am looking for a good free program that will capture an entire window even when the whole window does not fit on the screen. Does anyone know of such a program?

Maybe ScreenRip32 can do what you want or HandySnap and it's freeware, although HandySnap stays free as long as it's in Beta. :)

I am disappointed, that you didn't mention SnagIt Eldar. ;) :D

I don't know if this will help but why can't you just download the entire web page? I do this all the time with pages, and save them to a special folder that I can view later. In Firefox right click and select "save page as".

True, but what if I want to capture the screen of a program I am running and it is too large to fit on the screen without taking multiple screen shots?

I guess what you would call that I am looking for is a "scrolling window capture" in a free program. I have programs that do everything else and I do not want to pay for just this one feature.

Scrolling window, region. SnagIt or HyperSnap do all this. I haven't found a free one yet who gives you this feature.
You'll have to wait then until some developer incorporates it in a free screen capture program, although I doubt it. :p ;)

Edit: With all this talk about screen capture I wrote down the wrong one. :D

I really like SnagIt but here is my next problem I ran into. I can do scrolling window captures with no problem, except that the one I really wanted to capture, SnagIt does not recognize it as a scrolling window and will only do a regular window capture... Oh well....

I'm curious to know which scrolling window you want to capture. Have you tried scrolling region? Some time ago I captured a scrolling region in Spy Sweeper (5.2 MB) Yikes.
So I was wrong after all, didn't know that one. :D

I couldn’t let you go without an actual freeware utility you requested for; I found nice small and basic, easy-to-use webpage capture utility.

    Web2Pic v1.1 (Freeware)
    Official site: http://www.anloer.com/web2pic/index.htm
    Official D/L: http://www.qwerks.com/download/7741/WEB2PIC.zip size: 356 KB

    Optional choice:

    Screenshot Pilot v1.03 (Freeware)
    Official site: http://www.colorpilot.com/screenshot.html

    ;)

Edited; Web2Pic v1.1 wont do what you want, you'll have to jump to Screenshot Pilot. I didn't seem to get the part, you wanted to capture the program window along with....

I was trying to capture the "about" screen in PrevX Home which shows all of the different module versions to post in the update section.

I'm not using Prevx, but I think that should be done by using 'scrolling region' instead of scrolling window, same as in my Spy Sweeper's log.

    Worth a try. ;)

    Eldar,

I guess we were posting at the same time. I guess I do not need to go back to SnagIt and try the other method you suggested because SnagIt is a pay for software and Mr. Captor is free.

Thanks everyone for all of your help and suggestions ;) ....

Right you are. No need to go back to SnagIt when you found a free one. :D
    My pleasure. ;)

    Hi snowy,

You are correct, it is not free. The website is a little deceiving. You have to look real close to see it is shareware and even closer to find the price of $29. What jumps out at you is the "free download", and after looking closer you find out it is a 30 day trial. I only found out the 30 day trial part from the help >> about within the program itself.... And I was liking it too.... I guess I will have to look at some others....

(Phantom's post did say it was shareware  )

    Right you are. ;)
Misleading website because you would think it's free, but on the download page it's marked Shareware.:doubt:
