Thanks bigc for ur swift response.
So basically, the detection rate would be as good as Kaspersky ?
Would they have the extended database like kaspersky ?
Then why the reason it is cheaper ?

Have any body good any clue ?
regards,
nigel

All of the KAV clone knock off av's are cheaper But KAV has the capability to detect more with the addidtion of their special definations or what ever they are called. But usually the knock off's do work fairly well. I know That extendia avk which is also a kav clone is very highly thought of by it's users.

I used it for about six months and I didn't notice it being resource hungry.

there is a 30 day trial of extendia pro http://www.extendia.com/
I use the Kav extendia ( single) as a backup and that only cost $10 . I do not believe that the AVK pro has the ability to get the additional definitions , however one has to be a little careful any ways with those as they can lead to some false positives occording to Igor from KL labs. The AVK is a bit grunty on the system although if you have a grunty system you will be fine . There are some adjustments that you can do to the real time scanner options that may help . There support is pretty good now also and they would offer some suggestions to try . I am happy with the AVK kav as a back up .I sometimes go up to Rav online scan ( as that is the other scanner engine with AVK pro ) and do a online scan . There are regular updates throughout the day . It is the 4.5 kav I believe with the same definitions as its later model.

Do u mean the Kaspersky extended database or the ExtendiaAVK Pro ?

Off-topic: should the title of this thread change to Kaspersky-cloned antivirus as it no longer on Steganos any more ?
