Default Spywareblaster - mscomctl.ocx problem

Thanks to the Langa List Newsletter, I found your site and the SpywareBlaster looks great! Unfortunately I'm having a problem on the first run. My computer is running NT 4. Starting spywareblaster.exe gives me the following error:

Run-time error '339'.
Component 'mscomctl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.

I did not reboot after installation but the install process didn't say I needed to. Any ideas?

The Count

Unfortunately the link (http://members.aon.at/dfg/products/faq_e.htm) keeps timing out on me (HTTP 500 error). I'm at work using a T1 line and have tried 7 times.

do you have to save mscomctl.ocx to a specific location?

Hi Xile4all,

You dug up an old thread. Nowadays you can download and run:
http://www.javacoolsoftware.net/downloads/missingfilesetup.exe <= direct download link
and it will put all the files in the correct location.

Regards,

Pieter

lostsoul57 - I have split your post off this thread and into it's own thread since the problem is related to Registry Mechanic and not SpywareBlaster.

You can find your new thread here: registry mechanic - mscomctl.ocx problem
