Another useful program from eXcessive Software labs
I had no luck (yet) on finding the way how to use the manual VDF download,but i made this one to simplify the scheduling process for updates.
AntiVir AutoUpdater is designed to work with AntiVir 6 Personal Edition (Free).
Its a shame that free antivirus with such good detection and heuristics have such a terrible update system. Hope my program will help a bit

AntiVir AutoUpdater

Introduction:
Are you tired of AntiVir Personal Edition manual update system?
I was, so I created this program that can be used as silent direct update or via Task Scheduler. No need for that extra AntiVir Scheduler tray icon anymore

Normal usage:
Connect to internet and just double click my AntiVir AutoUpdater.exe
Just make sure AntiVir Personal Edition is installed, because AntiVir AutoUpdater hooks up with AntiVir registry entries to obtain executable paths.
It doesn’t matter where you place AntiVir AutoUpdater.exe, because it will always find the AntiVir installation folder (unless its installation is corrupted or if it’s not installed)

Scheduled usage:
You can also use this program in combination with Task Scheduler (or Scheduled Tasks) function in Windows Control Panel. This can be useful to schedule updates when there is less load on H+BEDV servers.
Some things are the same as for Normal usage.

Use these parameters:

Schedule Task:
Daily

Start time:
Can be any time you want, but i recommend time which won’t interfere with your work (late hours or while you sleep, if you leave your PC turned on over night)

Schedule task daily:
Every 1 day(s)

Minimal check interval should be 4 hours and not less. You can always set to higher number of course.
Best servers response time is between 0:00 AM and 8:00 AM CET (Central European Time).

IMPORTANT!
AntiVir AutoUpdater automatically changes some of the AntiVir settings to work correctly.
These are Update AutoStart and Connection Close. First one must be enabled in order to run Internet Update externally and second one must be disabled (otherwise connection will be dropped on each update check).
These two parameters can be changed in the main AntiVir settings:
Options\Configuration\Internet Updater
(this is only useful only if you don’t want to use AntiVir AutoUpdater anymore)
Use with caution on dial-up connections!

Visual Enhancer is not required anymore since they finally enabled visual styles for their interface. It's available in AntiVir 6.30.x and up.
