    Hello

I have just installed NOD32 on a clean hard drive with XP just installed. No other application is running and yet I find that I get the following error messages within the log when I have scanned the system or when I want to manually scan a file....

MBR sector of the 4. physical disk - error reading disk sector
MBR sector of the 5. physical disk - error reading disk sector
MBR sector of the 6. physical disk - error reading disk sector

    C:\pagefile.sys - error opening (file locked) [4]

Has anyone got any ideas please...?

Thanks very much for your help, most appreciated.
Try as I might to read the documentation and help files, and also previous posts, I still could not find an answer.

Hi Dibbler, welcome to Wilders, the MBR error messages you are seeing, relate to:

    1. you perform a system scan under the account of a limited user
    2. you have a special boot manager or suchlike program that alters boot sectors installed
    3. you use a card reader while no card is actually inserted

The (file locked) [4] errors are related to “Swap Files” files that are in use (locked) by Windows and as such cannot be infected…

    Hope this helps…

    Cheers :D
