Default G'day all, I'm celebrating my first ever post with a trojan dropper small 5.J query

I'm running xp pro
AVG first found Trojan Dropper Small.5.J a coupla days ago.
Supposedly it is in file
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM 32\17ODHR0B.EXE

AVG fails to place it in virus vault.

adaware and spybot both told me I have a clean machine. AVG reckons they're lying, in fact has just popped up another AVG warning 'Trojan found' right now as I'm typing this.

I have spent days reading posts across the net re this.
I have tried the ...switch off system restore route and re-run AVG still fails to vault the pest.

I downloaded TDS-3 and in quick scan it says it finds no trojan mutexes (truthfully I dont know exactly what this means)
I ran TDS full system scan, and it picked up the above file address, but said it was not able to scan it, locked out.

I am an adventurous newby, but I find myself lost in the forest of the creepy horse droppings, can some one please give me an idea of where to go from here.
please be gentle as I am here quietly mouthbreathing while busily pretending to know what you're talking about
