Default SpywareBlaster

I installed it but am concerned with a couple of aspects.

1) After installation, the *only* icon showing for this program looks like a
window and is named *SpywareBlaster*. Is this correct or what I should be seeing?

2) After installation, I was visiting a sight and when the site came up this
site displayed warnings (have been to this sight before SpyBlaster install and
never recieved these warning before.) that I had many of the programs (spyware)
installed on my system. All of the named programs are programs listed in
SpywareBlaster who is supposedly killing these.
Have done all scans with TDS-3, BoClean, IEClean, Antivirus (AVG & FProT),
SpyBot, AdAware. Everything comes up clean.

So why would I be getting this messages at this site?

Win98 SE, 256MB. Full clean install done on 11-03-02

TYIA,

TYIA,

1) The SpywareBlaster icon is not being displayed on your system (the program is fine) - that will be fixed in the next released with a correctly resized icon.

2) As mentioned on the SpywareBlaster page, earlier versions of spyware-detecting scripts falsely detect those spyware applications on your system when you use SpywareBlaster to protect against them. Your system is safe, and you do not really have those items installed.

FYI, the spyware detection script at http://and.doxdesk.com has been updated so it does NOT give false detections anymore. A quote from the author:

Anyway, today’s updates are all to the parasite script. There’s a workaround to stop it detecting the inoculations set up by JavaCool’s new SpywareBlaster program as false positives.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
