Unhappy 'TROJ_STARTPAG.HI'

Hello:

I ran TrendMicro's HouseCall, ((http://housecall.trendmicro.com/)) and my machine has the 'TROJ_STARTPAG.HI' virus ... However, when I attempted to delete the file, it said it was 'In use by Windows'.

Please help.

BTW, the file name is mtwirl.dll, if that's any help.

Hi Mallory

Welcome to Wilders.

Did u try to delete it in safe mode?

I think Panda detects this also. They have a free online scan also here,

http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/

Also this link may help u,

What is 'Safe mode' and how do I run the virus scan in that mode?

I'm still running the Panda AntiVirus program ... And while it was running, a pop up balloon in the right hand bottom corner of the screen said that Windows was 'Running Out Of Memory' ... Wait, it wasn't memory ... It was something else. I'm an idiot. Ignore me.

Windows XP ... But I'm pretty sure the virus is gone now. I think my Dad fixed it.
