Default Re: HELP!!!

The first step depends on your operating system:

If this is Win 95, 98, or ME, download Exefix08.com from this site: http://home.earthlink.net/~rmbox/Ret...d/Only_IE.html

Doubleclick it, and it will restore the default Windows file associations for exefiles.

If you're running Windows XP or 2000, try this one:

http://www.dougknox.com/xp/fileassoc/xp_exe_fix.zip

Next, do NOT reboot, but Go to http://forums.subratam.org/index.php?showtopic=7 , and download Hijack This.

Unzip to a folder other than your Desktop or the Temp folder, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log somewhere, and please show us its contents.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.
