False positive[merged]

    Nero 63117 FP with NOD32

    Hello,
    There is à false heuristic detection when installing the ne Nero v6.3.1.17

    AudioPlugins\msa.dll probably unknown CRYPT.WIN32 virus

    Nero 63117 FP with NOD32

    msa.dll identified as unknowrn crypto virus. Already sent info in to Eset.

    This program is a pain in the ass. No way to ignore the file and it is most definitely a false positive. I hope I won't have to wait until Monday for this to be addressed.

    How do You send files to Eset?
    I tried to send to sample@eset.com, but e-mail came back, said file not accepted.

    I had the same issue with Nero 6.3.1.17, Couldn't get it to install at all

    This is what I did:
    All you have to do is copy nero63117.exe to a temp folder, right click on it and hit "Extract Here" - then just replace the old msa.dll with the new one - old one is in /program files/common files/Ahead/AudioPlugins - and just hit setup and thats it, or you can go here
    ftp://ftp6.nero.com/
    and download
    ftp://ftp6.nero.com/msa_inst.exe
    which fixes the msa problem and other issues with Audio Files/Compilations.

    Bookmark this ftp link ftp://ftp6.nero.com/ because it contains some cool tools like neros "General Clean Tool" That Cleans out ALL NERO Files and Settings - Good for Reinstalling when there are issues

    Wonder why the file size dif from older version of Nero, Extracted out also a MSA7 folder with msa.dll file there also in same folder as suspected virus.

    Can not install the new update from nero on my pc. Is this on nod32 problem?

    Hi guys,
    we already have the dll on which nod32 triggers a false alarm. It will be fixed as soon as possible (most likely in the next update). In the meantime, you can turn off the use of heuristics, or exclude the file in question from scanning in AMON setup.

    Nero Burning Rom 6.3.1.17 msa.dll false positive has been fixed with version 1.802 (20040703).
