Trojan Backdoor afcore.bm

    Hi my PC is infected with a Trojan Virus and reboots as soon as the desktop is displayed. AVG detected the virus and gave the message:-

    C:\windows\system32\mydovstat.dll Trojan Backdoor afcore.bm

    but it cannot remove the file.

    I have read some existing posts and downloaded and scanned with Hijackthis here is the log.

    ps- this scan was done while in safe mode.

    try this: click start > run> type in(copy/paste) the box rundll32:\C:\windows\system32:mydovstat.dll,Uninstall

    reboot into normal mode and do another scan with hjt and post a fresh log

    Hi, thanks for replying. I managed to boot in normal mode after a system restore and followed your instructions but was told the parameter is incorrect. Did another scan while in normal mode here is the new Hijackthis log.

    close all windows except hijackthis, tick the boxes net to these lines and click fix

    i don't see the afcore lines in the log, maybe your av fixed it

    Hi, I have followed your above instructions and have also installed a trial version of AVG 7.0 which has quarantined the infected file(c:\windows\system32\mydovsat.dll) which I mispelt mysdovstat in first posts, sorry.
    Norton windoctor has noticed the file is missing and tells me my system may become unstable. In the past I have downloaded replacements for missing dll's but searches for this particular one gets no results.
    Also, Zone Alarm often tells me windows explorer is trying to access the internet and act as a server when I connect with internet Explorer (I deny it permission). Is this anything to with the problem or could there be a legitimate reason for this?

    go to start run & type cmd, press return

    on the blacjk dos like screen that comes up paste this line & press rreturn and it should uninstall it for you

    rundll32 C:\WINDOWS\System32:mydovsat.dll,Uninstall

    and post a new hijackthis log please
