Question Outlook E problems using eXtendia or KAV5

Hi all,
I´m having problems using one of this two KAV5 or eXtendia. When I try to check OE accounts it displays the next to error:
- 0x800CCC0F (AV change my pop3 account to 127.0.0.1)
or this two if I re-change to "pop3.xxxxxxx.xxx"
- 0x800CCC90
- 0x800CCC92
KAV support told me:
"In order to solve the situation we recommend you to extend the timeout of server connecting in your E-mail client."
But didn´t help.
So, how can I fix this?

TIA,

Do you have both installed at the same time?

Lightbulb Re: Outlook E problems using eXtendia or KAV5

- eXtendia for on-access.
- KAV5 for test on-demand.
In eXtendia you can choose "Prevent Permitted Time Being Exceeded by Mail Program" in mail Options, and everything works fine sometimes. But you need to kill the POPservice after scanning your mail accounts.
In KAV5 this option doesn´t appear.

Thanks anyway.

I'd uninstall one. You don't need both and it seems KAV 5 142 doesn't get along if there's another AV, even if the other AV isn't running resident or vice versa. Either product offers pretty much the same level of protection. Pick whichever one runs best on your comp.

LOL commit and be happy.

eXtendia POP3 was flaky in my testing and given the whole shadiness of the product and company, I'd avoid it.

Well, switch back to my previous config.
- NOD32 as resident
- KAV 5.0.132 as on-demand

Really? I´ve better stay with 5.0.132, what do you think?
It semms eXtendia AVK can´t stay on-demand.

Any difference between KAV and AVK could be attributed to a margin of error. Not to mention, heuristics in 5 are better than 4.5, so even though AVK has RAV, it's probably a fairly even playing field.

Question Re: Outlook E problems using eXtendia or KAV5

Well I think I´ve wrong in an obvious thing I´ve missed.
Extendia gives a plugins for Outlook, not Outlook Express I thought. So it would be nice that someone experienced in AVK like AMRX told us if this possible. Anyway having living KAV5 / NOD32 / AVK can give you when uninstalling a BSOD (0x0000008E, in SYMEVENT.EXE). Be care of this.
