    Gentlemen,

First let me apologize. I have not been paying attention to all the loose ends here in the forum. I appreciate the help, and realize now that this is all volunteer work. I also understand that volunteer work is often overlooked in importance, myself being a volunteer firefighter. Please accept my sincere apologies.

    Todd

Here is my latest Hijack log. I am having BHO's popping up continuosly, the file location is "C:\Windows\appqe.dll". The BHO it is catching is (BA66EA91-C16C-D1A2-86DA-4CC1F4EF8C99). I am using SpyWare Guard to catch it. I have already used Adaware, Spybot, Stinger, and Shredder, before using Hijack.

Also, anytime I open a Microsoft product, an installation attempt starts for that program. It started at the same time the BHO's did. I don't know if this will help, but everytime the alert from SpyWare Guard pops up, the processor cooling fan kicks in.

    Hi Coyote Creek,

You have friends in high places. ;)

    Click Start > Run > Services.msc > OK
In the services window find Network Security Service.
Rightclick and stop it. Put the Startup type to disabled under Properties > General tab

Then open TaskManager and stop these two processes:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\mssw32.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\mskh.exe

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = res://C:\WINDOWS\dledi.dll/sp.html#96676

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [mssw32.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\mssw32.exe

    O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [appov.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\appov.exe

Then reboot into safe mode and delete:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\mssw32.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\appov.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\dledi.dll
    C:\Windows\appqe.dll

Post a new log when you are done, so we can see if everything worked out as planned.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Thanks for the help.

    OK here's the new log.

    I did not find C:\Windows\dledi.dll

After restarting, I get a System Configuration Utility dialog box. The I get a different BHO found by SpyWare Guard (ABEE3A3C-3CE2-A44C-7A71-FE55BCC44985) and the file name is ntoi.dll

Still getting the install process for microsoft products.

You were able to shutdown the service I asked you to, right?

Then Fix this line with all IE windows closed:
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = res://C:\WINDOWS\dledi.dll/sp.html#96676

and find the file that SpywareGuard reported and delete it.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Pieter,

I was able to stop all services you indicated. I used Hijack to fix "R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = res://C:\WINDOWS\dledi.dll/sp.html#96676" but did not realize I was restoring that value through SpyGaurd. I have since fixed "R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = res://C:\WINDOWS\dledi.dll/sp.html#96676" and have ran another Hijack log. The BHO is still popping up. I'm not finding dledi.dll, but there is a file dledijunk.dll and dledijunk.dat.

    Latest log

    Hi coyote Creek,

    Stop this process:
    mskh.exe
    and upload C:\WINDOWS\system32\mskh.exe at:
    http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus
If that says it is TrojanDownloader.Win32.Agent.z delete the file.

Any other results I'd like to know before you continue.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Pieter,

    It was a trojan downloader.

    I stopped the process mskh.exe.
    Deleted the file.

Did a windows search and found MSKH.exe-303ECB00.PF, located at C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch.

    No BHO's trying to install.

Now I just have to figure out why MS Office is trying to re-install. Maybe I'll have to go ahead and re-install MS Office.

Here's the log after the fix.

    Hi Todd,

Log looks good now. Uninstalling Office and re-installing it, often helps to get the Windows Installer back on the right track.

    Regards,

    Pieter
