Adblock Plus

Do you use the malware blocking, trace & social network blocking features? Will it make browser slow & how good they are?

 

I use only Malware Domains, combined with Adguard as a 'layered' defense. No issues, now slowdowns.

I do experience slow downs, but this is due to my setup as a whole. If i disable other protections, my browser is actual fast relative to clean Firefox install with no scripting or web elements blocked. The only time I see major performance impact is if I attempt to use multiple over lapping filters like Easylist and Fanboy lists, which your advised not to anyways. Adblock Plus and Adblock Edge are good programs. Makes surfing the web pleasant instead of marginally tolerable.

Does the default filter blocks ads in youtube?
Does any filter has porn websites blocking? I know its ad blocker, just asking.

And suggest for Chrome & Internet Explorer only. I only use these 2.

I also installed ABP for IE & there are 2 entries in add/remove, ABP for IE & ABP for IE 32 & 64, can any one confirm?

I use EasyList, Malware Domains and EasyPrivacy subscriptions. I also use Ghostery with all trackers blocked and don't feel my browsing any slower.

I use Fanboy's Ultimate List, Malware Domains and Anti-Adblock Killer. With these subscriptions, ABP makes my browsing really smooth without all the nonsense stuffs.

I have installed Adblock Plus in Chrome & Internet Explorer
Win 7 64

I want to know if any of you have prob with Video Chat in Yahoo Messenger i.e either the voice is not transferred both ways or sometimes Video Call tab is kind of greyed out i.e cannot be clicked.
I am having this prob today. And yesterday I installed Adblock Plus & Bitdefender free AV. I tried disabling BD free & Adblock Plus but no success. Could these programs be the reason for the prob?

Any info?

Does the lists & Adblock Plus updates automatically?
I installed on 20 Mar 2014 & it still shows updated 20 Mar 2014.

 

The subscriptions are updated automatically. I think it checks every three days or so. You can check for updates manually if you like.

 

I have easylist, malwaredomains, fanboyssocial & easyprivacy.
Malwaredomain updated few mins back, rest didn't yet.

 

All the lists autoupdated yesterday.

 

I have found that ABP on Firefox auto-updates the subscription lists much more often than ABP on Chromium. For me, ABP on Firefox updates the "Easy" lists about every 4 days, but on Chromium it updates every 7-8 days.

 

What the difference installing Adblock Plus from official site & Chrome store?
