Cool Web Search Warfare

I have been trying to get rid of this for a month, is there any new tools that will kill it for good I use Hijackthis and shredder daily to supress it, but I am hoping for the day that a tool arrives to kill it. Any news? Thanks

CWS SHREDDER DOES NOT WORK.........YET

CWS will only change back your settings, but the new variant defeats it with winns, dll, and other trojans that reset it everytime you restart.

THE VAST MAJORITY OF POSTERS HERE ARE DEALING WITH THIS, IS THERE ANYONE THAT KNOWS HOW TO KILL THESE OTHER CWS FILES

If you don't post a log, then there is no way for us to know what variant of CWS infection you are dealing with, and can't help you until you do post one.

Please post a new hijackthis log here in this thread so the Experts can advise you.

Hi billgilles,

What you've posted above is called a Startup List. What we need to see is a Hijackthis log.

Please open Hijackthis and run it by clicking on the Scan button. When the scan has finished, the "Scan" button will then change to a Save Log button. Press the "Save Log" button and save it to a location you can easily find it. Open the saved log in notepad, and copy and paste the entire contents of the log here in this thread.

Please do NOT fix anything in Hijackthis by yourself. Most of what it lists will be harmless and even essential. Someone will review your log and reply back with instructions on what needs to be fixed.
