Will secure anywhere compliment bit defender total 2014 or not....If so I won't need complete with all bit defender has built in i'm sure.
I would personally use WSA Alone. Your PC will run so much better if you use WSA only without BD. But that's just me
Yes WSA is compatible with Bitdefender. If you run into any conflict you can always come here and it'll be sorted out. As @SweX said WSA alone is more than enough. It's fast, light and effective.
I disagree with you here. All my attempts to combine WSA with Bitdefender have failed. Either random freezes or crashes. I've seen several making the same observations. Bitdefender is, in my experience, the only AV that does not go well with WSA.
Really! I have tried Bitdefender Internet Security with WSA a couple of months ago for a few days. I first installed BIS then installed WSA. Excluded WSA folder in BIS and allowed BIS processes in system Control in WSA. Installed them on my cousin's pc with Win 7 64bit configuration. Felt some amount of system slowdown. But no freezing or crashes. Didn't dare to try it on my laptop. Poor thing wouldn't breathe with BIS. Also now that Bitdefener 2014 has come out and WSA 2014 will come out soon I think they could be compatible even more unless Bitdefender takes a stand against any other AV.
Reason I asked about bit defender is i have a month old version of bitdefender total Security and was wondering about either combining WSA with it or would i gain anything by running WSA alone which would require another purchase?
Since there are cases of crashes and incompatibility like with shadek I think you would better avoid using WSA with Bitdefender just to be on the safe side. It'd be best to use WSA alone even if it means another purchase. If you like WSA and think it would best suite you then why not? Many members here in the Wilders have several licenses of different products. It's what you find comfortable and like only matters. The new version of WSA is very much strong enough to be used as a standalone.
Only thing that worries me are these reviews of WSA 2013....I wonder if 2014 will be better..I know I'm a pain ~ snip removed Youtube test link see TOS ~
What is there to be worried about.... That WSA don't stop all threats right away in a "you tube test" ? Not up for a debate so all I will say is there's nothing to worry about, at all.
One more thing..Bitdefender total security 2014 seems to slow my computer and one website freezes for around 30 seconds but i took it off and my browsing is fast now.no freeze,,auto update from 2013 to 2014 for WSA?
Bitdefender AV 2014 is incompatible with WSA 2014 on my system, everything works fine but Chrome simply refuses to work. its a pity
Oh don't fall for those reviews. They don't know what they're talking about. WSA works differently. Like shadek and SweX said. WSA is efficient.
When installing it always looks for the latest version which is the 2014 version and all versions are in the same downloaded file and the keycode turns on the features you paid for another great and simple thing that's built into WSA. Program Updates are automatic so if you have 2014 and if you still an active subscription it will auto update to 2015 when that happens so the current release is WSA 2014 v8.0.4.17 may I ask what version you have from the AV only or ISP, Complete? To keep and eye on Program Updates please see here: https://community.webroot.com/t5/Release-Notes/bd-p/ReleaseNotesWSA#.UlGT9xDVGN8 or here: http://www.webroot.com/us/en/support/support-consumer-release-notes Great to have you aboard! Cheers, TH
Good going. As pegas and Triple Helix explained, WSA will automatically update for free. No worries. Just sit back and relax. Enjoy the smooth ride on WSA to the wonderland free of threats.
