    Re: CIS 6.2.282872.2847 Released!

egemen has just said that we will get the Behavior Blocker for version 2014 BETA. Normally next version is going to be the 2014 version (and we will still be at V6 just like V5 and version 2012 if I remember correctly. ie version 2011 was V5 just like version 2012.)

    update : it's going to be V7.

Well that's really good, considering it took a registry tweak before!

Anyone notice any positive changes in this new version?

Does it feel smoother than previous builds?

    Worth upgrading?

I just went back to avast!, which is why I ask.

    Re: CIS 6.2.282872.2847 Released!

    Feels the same for me.
The sandbox erases a LOT faster than before.
The only thing which irritates me is the logging. When i run firefox in the virtual browser it logs this as intrusions.
it also logs the virtual as an intrusion and i cant find where to exclude these.
It might be just a false feeling,,but i feel it perhaps is blocking things it shouldnt be and it even logged itself as an intrusion.

    Thanks

By the way, have you tried reporting your findings at the Comodo Forums?

    Re: CIS 6.2.282872.2847 Released!

Yes i reported this ages ago.Its not a big deal...its a good release at least for me and it is faster in terms of the sandbox operation.

There have been a few bug reports in the forum but nothing i have experienced myself and its been pretty smooth sailing so far.

I would like them to work on their av as it does get heavy on the cpu sometimes.

    Regards.

    Good deal :thumb:

I would have to agree with you there, the AV does seem to get heavy at times.

How do you like the new summary screen?

The summary screen is just what was needed and its excellent with all relevant info there.

Plus comodo have brought back the old stateful/on access switch just like version 5.

    Re: CIS 6.2.282872.2847 Released!

Can it be defaulted to the Summary Screen/Do we have a choice?

I made a suggestion about this on their forum.

I highly doubt they did though, at least in this version.

Sorry about all these questions, I should just go test it myself hahaha

    Re: CIS 6.2.282872.2847 Released!

Bypass Bypass Bypass its the same damn thing I have been seeing in COMODO since v6 and then their devs completely ignore it or torture you with their annoying big reports, see:
    http://forums.comodo.com/news-annou...ypass-cis-v62-fully-virtualized-t95943.0.html
    http://forums.comodo.com/news-annou...tially-limited-limited-and-hips-t95939.0.html

Anything else!? there are 1000 of threads about v6 being bypassed and still no fixes

and then they claim their suite is perfect, when malware writers have already found ways to get past HIPS,Sandbox etc :argh:

This is the main reason I left COMODO,because as day moves on CIS is becoming more and more vulnerable and then they are of course passionate fanboys

The installers are all the same – 142MBs - (for complete CIS)
I'll wait until the CFW only installer becomes available from the likes of MajorGeeks, etc. (usually only 50MBs or so)

    Re: CIS 6.2.282872.2847 Released!

Well, didn't last long here. I installed 6.2 on a fresh install and it immediately killed my internet connection. Everything was working fine prior to my reinstallation and worked fine after. Then, installed Comodo 6.2 and the Internet connection was gone. I removed it completely and Internet was back, so reinstalled and again the internet died. I even downloaded it again from another source. Same thing. I figured 3 broken connections was enough. Comodo IS 6.2 doesn't like this computer.

I am running the Dragon browser with latest Sandboxie and am still debating an AV.

    Re: CIS 6.2.282872.2847 Released!

Those bypasses are from yesterday so the devs has't ignore anything please don't lie.

Most of the older bypasses has been fixed with this
BTW why don't you to the other AV threads complaining about bypasses? I can find tons of malware everyday able to bypass many AV suite, and I can assure you that I can't do the same so easily for CIS
    ___

The new UI looks great and really informative and use full the old one was...

    Re: CIS 6.2.282872.2847 Released!

    Another fanboyish reply...

Point no.1: I just stated my complain and opinion, didnt lie

C'mon now dont tell me that CIS needs to be tweeked to protect 100% as a normal average user wouldnt do it.

I was with CIS for a quite a while and in that mean time I tested it against duqu, flame, stuxnet and reported the bypasses to mods and landed up being left with no reply and still I garuntee ransomware bypasses are not yet fixed.

The link I gave in previous reply was a bypass even existing in CIS v6.1 and still it remains the same, why!? because no one from COMODO ever cares about improving or patching the bypasses, why not just search the bug section and leak test section of the forum rather than defending your little CIS,see this guys threads:
    https://forums.comodo.com/profiles/a256886572008-u26744.html;sa,showPosts

And there will be more of them saying,COMODO is 100% bullet proof when it is not.Even I saw a fakeAV bypass somewhere being reported on the forum and its still not been attended by devs.

You can find 100's and 1000's of bugs/bypasses and stuff still not attended.

When will people admit that every layer of security even HIPS/sandbox will be attacked and bypassed like it is happening now with COMODO.

And what about the high promises made on valkyrie and DACS since past 2 years or less,it never ever came into CIS,dont believe me go ask spywar, what I only saw is fanboyish rants.I am not saying that it aint good but there are some things that need to improve or need to be attended quickly.

Basically, he is right :thumb: especially for the last part (valkyrie and so called DACS).

    Re: CIS 6.2.282872.2847 Released!

I guess that is your only defense, so sad...

    There is nothing 100%

And regarding the rest of your post
    1) the HIPS hasn't been bypass since it's somehow disable with the default settings. No I won't tell you to change the default settings to avoid all those bypases, that is so difficult for you I guess, it would be better if you use any other product
    2) The sandbox has been bypass with default settings and is not fixed. Sometimes is not that easy to fix a bug because it requires big changes, so what they can do for now, and what they do is add it to the AV database.

What I don't like is that they have lowered the protection of CIS with the default settings in order to make it more user friendly and attract more users, and still with the default settings I'm sure that can beat any competitor.
For the rest of people like us who care about 1 bypass between billions the only thing we can do is to change the default settings, or move any other weaker product.
