Hard drive renamed

Howdy!

I've got a strange one - it's no biggie but I'd like to change it back. My 3rd hard drive is used only for data/file storage and was formerly known as "Data Drive:G." Upon my first use of TrueImage, I created a 10 gig "securezone" on the 120 gig data drive where I proceeded to image my "operating system only" hard drive. Today I felt I should add some space to the securezone even though it was not needed yet. I changed securezone to 25 gig, but in the process (apparently, anyway) securezone became drive "G" and my datadrive became drive "H." Like I said, it's no biggie - especially since it's files/data only so there are only a few shortcuts leading to that drive... But I would like to change it back... Any ideas?

Do not know if you have tried this yet.

Right Click>My Computer>

Left Click>Manage>

Left Click>Disk Management>

Right Click>(Data Drive (H))>

Left Click>Change Drive Letter aand Paths....>

Left Click>Change>

Left Click>H and change to G set OK [Best to ReBoot then]

If G is available to you.

This Should work as G is not seen by the System.

Hehe - nope, I hadn't tried that. I didn't know to try that ;-)

I have learned something valuable today and I thank you for that one. Reckon I just never had the need to change a drive letter before!

I still wonder a bit how changing the size of securezone also changed drive letters, but with such an easy fix it matters little.

Glad it be of some help.

It the first thing I do on a clean insall, is to change my optical drives too Y:\ and Z:\.

So any Partitions or HDD's are in the correct order when added.

For safety have Ti Check the Image. [to make sure it is still not (G)]

Hmm well now I can feel smart - I did have TI check the securezone after fixing the drive designations and everything appears to be in perfect order !

sheesh well I'm not sure if I'm smart or just compulsive lol I swear - I have NOD32 set to auto-update every hour but i still check it 2-3 times a day along with any other updatable app i have on my pc, erven though I don't have anything running resident other than NOD32 when I'm "gaming." The others I leave on for browsing etc.. still hehe
