Good Afternoon! Been using G-Data I.S.2014 for about 3-4 weeks. Had to download from the U.K.Site. Just checked the U.S.A.Site still promoting 2013. Newone...what site did you see it at? Screenshots at Computer Bild Magazine.I Really like the new Gui...and it's layout. And the set-up is much quicker...and overall the new build seems lighter on ram useage. Sincerely...Securon

I've been using it the same length of time, and I agree with this assessment. It also scans faster, which is another plus. G Data's done a nice job with the 2014 version..:thumb:

Good Evening! Cimmerian...as you know G-Data has always used Digital Fingerprinting...for the scan. It recognizes older and redundant files....bypasses them...making for dramatically reduced Scan Times. A full system scan of my computer is roughly high thirties to low forty in minutes. I also like the firewall set it and forget it. All in All a Meaningful improvement over 2012 and 2013 Editions. Sincerely...Securon

Yeah, my scans went from about 55 minutes to 40, for a nice scan speed boost. I take it you run the firewall set to Autopilot then? I have mine set to high, but a manual rule set, I prefer to know exactly who or what is trying to use the phone. Either way, you can't lose.

Good Evening! Noob...I must admit...that Bitdefender...is a for sure re:it's detection rates...it's the unknown...that will only reveal itself in the next round of A/V Comparitives Testing. But the new version is a Superb Edition...and will be an Equal...to Emsisoft. Go on...take it for a test drive! Sincerely...Securon

I've only used this version on my Win 7 x64 machine, so can't comment on other os's. On this pc, the several processes total out around 100k, but have almost no impact on the system, it's very light. You'll probably be surprised at the difference if you've used earlier versions, though personally I never found the earlier versions to be too heavy. 2014 is lighter, though.

Does the CloseGap Technology replace the Dual Antivirus Engine? It looks like it does.

CloseGap replaces the Avast engine only, Bitdefender's engine remains.

CloseGap sucks compared to Avast! as a second engine. But hey, who cares as Bitdefender is great on its own even if CloseGap is no good.
