Caution! I installed x64 for W7 and neither v9 or v10 are even present in Program Files or PF (86). First indication something was wrong is when I tried to open it via taskbar, Sandboxie kept deleting the sandbox. Then I disabled "Force" but it still wouldn't. No wonder, I can't find it lol! I'll restore and wait a while since I need IE like a hole ing the head!

I really wish they would have embedded Flash into IE and ditched Active-X. However, considering any updates to it likely would have gone through the same, sometimes long process of testing MS does for other updates, maybe it's better this way.

Update went smoothly. The installer installed the prerequisite files first and then installed Internet Explorer 10 and after that, it finished with installing the language pack. It prompted me to reboot my computer. After reboot I was able to fire up and launch IE 10. :thumb:

You can confirm you have IE 10 installed by checking the box that lets you enable/disable Windows features. It should be listed here and make sure the box next to Internet Explorer 10 is checked. You can also find out if you have IE 10 by clicking on About when you run Internet Explorer. It should say Internet Explorer 10. :)

Does it disable aero like the prerelease versions did?

Internet Explorer 10 is available only in 64X build for 64X systems. :thumb:

You can run it in 32 bit compatibility mode by turning off Enhanced Protected Mode in the Advanced Tab in the Internet Options Menu.

There is a separate 32 bit build of Internet Explorer 10 available for X86 PCs. But it will no longer be available for installation on 64X computers.

Updated from the pre-release via Windows update, on my work pc. Went smoothly, no issues. I have to say I like what I see so far, even though I've only played with it for a little while. Opens almost instantly, and all the pages I've viewed loaded really quick. I do wish IE was more customizable, whether it be themes, extensions, or even just the navigation toolbar, this is so far a really nice browser.

No, it doesn´t disable aero. The prerelease version didn´t either.

Enhanced Protected Mode is turned off by default.

To run IE as 64X, tick the box, exit the browser and launch it again. Turn it off, exit and launch again to go back to 32 bit.

Win Internet Explorer 10 final Release?

Hi All, I ran across this on a Windows 7 forum. It looks like the final release to me, but I haven't seen any reference to it any where else. What do you think? I also looked for my IE 9 in my control panel where I could delete it when I install V10 but I don't see it there. How do I uninstall V9 otherwise when I finally want to install V10? http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/download-ie :)

I wouldn't bother downgrading, simply install and upgrade over the existing version.

I've got IE32x and 64x also. I'd like to just wind up with IE V10 64x.
