    What did you hear?

Third party testing at Virus Bulletin has been very positive. They got 12 positive results in a row. I wonder what you know that is different.

By the way, Comodo has had their AV tested: http://www.virusbtn.com/vb100/archive/vendor?id=93

Manny, don't forget that CAV comes with Defense+ (Sandbox) so anything that is missed by signature is isolated from the system and no damage is done.

Virus Bulletin is good BUT , not a complete diagnosis . There are better out there than VirusBuster . That is why I only use the Agnitum firewall . If you feel VB ratings are good enough , okay . I see too many things that are not in the wild that still cause problems on computers that come in to be repaired .
And when will 7.6 be available via update ?

Outpost Pro is running very smooth, best release yet.
OSS is a little slow, I guess from AV.
Had OSS installed, and reverted to OP. Very happy now. :)

Meaning what, signatures aren't required? Why have them then?

I don't think it will be. They are working on this aspect but it's been a while. Right now you have to download it.

That is not strictly true. The comodo sandbox is not a true sandbox. It runs unknown executables in a restricted form but they are most certainly not isolated.

Agnitum Outpost was way to basic for me last i messed with it,that's about all i remember.
the thing doesn't allow the end user to control anything that was a free version though, im guessing the pro version is somewhat better.

You're right the free version is restricted compared to the paid version but here is what you can do with the free 6.5 version: http://www.outpostfirewall.com/forum/showthread.php?24216-Outpost-Free-v-6-5

    Of course they are isolated.
Go to HIPS settings and choose "Fully virtualized" option.
BTW, I'm talking about CAV 6.

I do not trust those kinds of test ... I receive hundreds of samples every day and CAV is one of the best at detection rate ... But it differs from others because of all proactive and cloud tech .. I always run the remaining samples and I can assure you I have never got my VM infected by any malware.

The free version seems to be somewhat abandoned from what i gather.Bullguard would be a better option as it uses the outpost firewall.
