Default Hijacked/infected

This is my first post on the forum but my computer appears to be hijacked and infected with two or three viruses. I have removed some but am still left with a couple "troj revop.a " and "troj stilen.a". Below is the hijack this file. Any help greatly appreciated.

Default Re: Hijacked/infected

Hi waldopilot,

Before you start, please create a permanent folder and move the HijackThis.exe off the desktop and into the new folder. HijackThis creates backups in the folder it is ran from, and running it on the desktop will scatter the backups all over it.

Then make sure you have all files and folders viewable:
How to Show Hidden Files and Folders

Bring up TaskManager (ctrl+alt+del keys) and stop the process msgked.exe.

Open Hijackthis, rescan, and place a check beside each of the following items.
(recheck them to be sure you got the exact one's listed below)
Close ALL browsers/windows, and click *Fix checked:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://server224.smartbotpro.net/7search/?new-hkcu

Download and run http://www.spywareinfoforum.com/~mer...CWShredder.exe
Click the "Fix" button (not "scan only") and follow the instructions from the prompts you receive when the program runs.

Reboot your computer into Safe Mode by tapping the F8 key just before windows begins to load.

Find and delete the following file:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\msgked.exe

Then reboot your computer normally and post a new hijackthis log to be checked.

Default Re: Hijacked/infected

Hi waldopilot,

It's looking much better, but the msgked.exe is still there.

Reboot into Safe Mode.

Then open Hijackthis and fix this line:

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [msmc] C:\WINDOWS\System32\msgked.exe

While still in safe mode, find and delete the msgked.exe file in the Windows System32 folder.

Reboot your computer normally.

Can you also run CWShredder again but this time just click the "Scan Only" button, and post the scan results here, along with a new hijackthis log.

Regards,

snap

Hi waldopilot,

Your log looks clean. Is everything working ok now?

If everything is working fine and there is no further sign of any infection, then it would be wise to purge the old restore points of any infection that would have been backed up in the System Restore folder.. To do that, follow these instructions: System Restore Instructions.
Remember to re-enable System Restore after it has been cleaned.

Here are some steps to follow to help tighten your security and prevent future infection: http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=27971

And make sure to visit Microsoft's Update Site and have all the Critical Updates listed for XP and IE6 installed.

Regards,

snap
