Who cares about RAM usage anyway.. 16GB of RAM in my laptop cost like 45$. CPU usage and HDD usage is what I would care about. How ever in times of SSD and i7 hyperthread even that can be higher than the other security products if the security increases as well.

Comodo never really disappointed me during the last few years while it was Kaspersky/Norton/Avira that made me leave and switch to Comodo. So I am sure Comodo 6 will be another top product.

For the GUI haters: I am sure there will be a way to change the GUI.. just as in the current Comodo 5. I prefer as simple as possible even if that might look "old" and "boring".

I don't want to offend no one here and no sarcasm intended, but those who dislike the new GUI...why don't they try to make one and present it to the Comodo team?Maybe they'll like it and many of us as well.

I am not a GUI designer. I am fine with the current GUI, and I have told Comodo that on their forums.

Comodos make or break feature has always been HIPs. If you are one that doesn't mind the prompts, and knows what to do when safe programs are blocked or sandboxed, then there is probably no better program. On the other hand, if you are one of the masses that doesn't want to deal with the HIPs issues, then you are better off using an other program.

Comodo sandbox can automatically isolate the malware executed from the Blackhole exploit kit.

I though it was, since I said in an earlier post I didn't like the new GUI as much as the current GUI.

In the end,do you like the new UI or not as it is very vague from your own posts.

My feelings were expressed in the second post of the thread. You need to learn to understand the difference between the current GUI and the new GUI.

Personally i wish comodo (like many other av vendors) wouldnt use so much black in the gui.The guis design is fine...just too much background black/grey for my liking.I prefer the chinese/asian type guis fun and colourful.

hey..

Current GUI , he meant version 5.
New GUI , he meant version 6

in fact..
he said " im fine with version 5 GUI " and as it turns out he'd rather version 5 GUI than version 6 GUI.

Regards,
Amin

I'm pretty sure that they will still offer that even in V6.

I understand perfectly. What you didn't understand was my irony between the lines.
To the thread subject,i think the new UI is awesome.Just hope that under the hood are "re-designs" also.

Oh yeah! That's a lot of redesigns under the smarter GUI!!!
For example the Virtual Kiosk is going to be a bomb in the AV-industry.

And Devs have mentioned that CIS 6 is modularized i.e it is completely different than CIS 5.

In CIS 5 if you disable D+ you only get FW & AV.

In CIS 6 you can disable D+ & other things are not affected i.e you get sandbox, behaviour blocker, etc.

I hope I interpreted Devs post correctly.

Here are the Devs words

"Its all modularized now. You can disbale HIPS and still have behavior blocking. You can disable everything and still run apps in sandbox or VK"

In reply to this I asked

"So what about self protection if D+ is disabled, it remains enabled too?

And by sandbox, do you mean autosandbox will remain enabled too even if D+ is disabled?

And does modularized means the installation is also modularized i.e if we dont want any module like D+ we will be able to not install it/any module?"

No reply from Dev yet.

Let's hope so.I just wish to use CIS FW with D+ or the full suite again,as for now the high CPU usage for cfp.exe made me to stay away.

The thing is though, even if you disable these modules the product still feels heavier, because all the device drivers/etc... the bloat is still there.

I wish it was possible to have these options/products:

- Firewall only

- Firewall & Defense+

- Firewall, Defense+, & AV

- Complete suite (FW, D+, AV, Sandbox, etc...)

I would personally use the 2'nd one, Firewall & Defense+.

I realize this is asking a lot, and we should be happy getting such a great product for free in the first place (and I am). But it would be amazing to get exactly what we want, streamlined like that.

I can get used to the GUI. It always happens with new products. My main concern is how light it feels. I'll make it a point to download an installer for the final version of 5 just in case 6 feels heavy. I love 5 and I don't see it becoming dated any time soon.

After the initial "honeymoon" period of tweaking the settings, I rarely even open up CIS anymore. It just sits in the tray, working.
