I have a 4-port PCI SATA card (SIL3114).
The BIOS is a non-RAID BIOS. The drives are correctly recognized as 3 TB during POST. The drives are correctly recognized as 3 TB in Windows XP -> Device Manager -> SCSI and RAID Controllers -> Silicon Image SIL 3114 SataLink Controller -> Device Info But Device Manager -> Disk Drives shows them as "Type: Unknown", "Status: Unreadable". Other 3TB drives on the very same PC are connected not to the add-in controller but directly to the motherboard SATA controllers and they are working 100% OK. The same add-in controller on another PC (with Windows 7) works also 100% OK (without Paragon GTP Disk Manager, of course). Is this a bug or some kind of limitation where not even your GPT Disk Manager helps? _________ PS: I tried the newest BIOS (both RAID and non-RAID) and the newest drivers (both WinXP built-in and the newest drivers from the silicon image website) |
