So, I recently installed Windows on my brand new drive. I installed EMET and added an exception for Half-Life, which is a game that doesn't play well with DEP. I made sure the DEP box for hl.exe (the program executable) is unchecked. Even after a reboot, the EMET notifier tells me that hl.exe violates DEP and will be closed. Has anyone had this problem before?
(I've tried it with other DEP-unfriendly programs and it doesn't work too.) I've tried the following: - Having DEP "Opt-out" and "Always On": No difference - DEP without EMET works if I add the executable to the list of exceptions. (Standard Windows DEP)
