Default Cannot get UEFI P2V copy to boot in VirtualBox

I'm dealing with two unknowns. My PC is a Windows 7 x64 recently converted to GPT w/UEFI so I'm still getting my feet wet with that. I used Paragon Hard Disk Manager Suite 2012 to make a VirtualBox P2V copy.

The issue is getting the guest to boot in VirtualBox 4.1.16. I've enabled EFI in the guest settings and used the EFI shell to boot from \efi\boot\bootx64.efi, but when I start the guest I get an BIXmiInitialize failed 0xc000009a error. I haven't been able to find a solution online so I've been poking around at the settings to see if I can stumble on something that works.

I'm hopeful someone here will have a suggestion or solution. Tomorrow I'll build a new EFI guest from the Win7 install ISO to confirm my VirtualBox settings are correct. I'm also new to VirtualBox so maybe there are three unknowns.

I posted the same question in the VirtualBox forum but so far the responses have been more "why" than "how". It's a learning experience. I don't have plans beyond seeing it run.

Thank you for any assistance.
