In ERAS 5 beta ESET solved duplicate names problem where one client with two or more network interfaces creates separate entries in ERAS for every interface. The same for clients, connecting via mobile network, where MAC addresses changes dynamically on every reconnection. Problem itself described here.
In final version this is gone. Or there is some secret switch to turn it on? And, if it's gone, why, and how long our administration nightmare will continue? |

Usually the fix is to go in to the advanced RAS settings and enable the "Enable mac address renaming (from unknown to valid)" and "Enable mac address renaming (from valid to valid)" which prevents the duplicate entries from being generated.

This works only for one LAN. If you have many LANs with separate workgroups and domains, there are some clients with identical names. Your fix will merge these clients. There was discussion about it recently.

Perhaps I am wrong, some clients when roaming are displayed correctly, without duplicating entries. Trying to find out why some clients duplicate.
