Rollback and SSDs!

I've been planning a build and although I prefer a SSD I didn't really want to give up the option of a "snapshot" program. I assumed they would not work with a SSD. Fortunately I searched here first! I've been using CTM on an XP desktop and a Vista laptop for more than two years and would feel kind of paranoid without it (or other). Anyway, in the old thread (was prompted that it was to old for responding) I found, it was discussing how you could not use TRIM and Rb. What I do with CTM is remove it monthly, defrag, make a Paragon image and then reinstall CTM. I suppose I could just uninstall Rb periodically, turn trim on for a few days and not mess with any settings or install any software, including Windows updates. Then turn trim off and reinstall Rb. Anyone doing it this way? Thank you!

Ratchet... the current version of Rollback RX (v9.1) does support SSDs and the use of TRIM for disk blocks that are really being deleted and uniquely located only in the CURRENT SYSTEM IMAGE. It cannot allow the TRIM command to execute on any disk sectors that are contained in any of it's snapshots, only blocks that are contained only in the CURRENT SYSTEM IMAGE.

Most of today's SSDs, especially those that use a Sandforce controller, handle garbage collection nicely in the SSD itself even without TRIM, and since it's being directed by RBrx's disk allocation mechanism, it manages retained snapshot data just fine.

CTM, on the other hand, I believe is a crapshoot. Unless they specifically state they support TRIM (RBrx does), don't count on it.
