To give a few more details about the update Mops mentioned:

On some Vista systems Mamutu and Emsisoft Anti-Malware caused the system to freeze sometimes, if an UAC request was displayed. The update published in beta updates today, fixes that issue. It should be available via stable updates within the next few days.

Doesn't surprise me to be honest. The freeze only occurred under very specific circumstances to begin with. So most users aren't affected by it at all.

I just un-installed EAM due to it taking up way too many resources and slowing my PC down.

I really liked the program but I have an older computer :/

Any suggestions for something as good but lighter?

How old is your PC? I have EAM and OA Premium installed in my 8 year old Dell 8200 desktop. This is a P4 3.2GHZ with 2.5GB's of ram and it work well.

Thanks Fabian. I've installed EAM and Online Armor Premium, a month ago. I quote my impressions from another user:

"I believe EAM blocks way too many legiate sites. It seems to be extremely paronoid. What is the criteria that EAM uses to decide when to block a site or suspicious connection? It blocks some sites that I regularly visit, and I know to be safe. I have all surf protection shields set at default"

That's exactly my problem. In another hand, randomly windows action center says my antivirus is off

http://support.emsisoft.com/topic/64...action-center/

I think Emsisoft should provide a real fix for this issue.

Best regards

OFF TOPIC:Can you both give a reason why? I can give one reason why Emsisoft Anti-Malware is in the "other anti-malware software" forums. Now it's your turn

IMO this thread fits this sub-forum perfectly. EAM is not only an AV but has also different modules for additional protection such as Surf Protection and the BB.

I know why it's here. Anyway I'll get use to it. I check this forum everyday with the other AV forum.

You sure it's EAM fault? It feels very light in my PC and it's old as hell!

The problem is that the term "anti-malware" has been bastardized by some companies and their "we don't count viruses as malware so although we claim to be an anti-malware application we don't protect you from viruses" approach. Interestingly each and every anti-virus out there is technically an anti-malware application while most of the anti-malware applications are not (because they specifically exclude a significant major malware group from their detection).

In most user's perception if you are detecting viruses you are an anti-virus and if you don't you are an anti-malware. This is why threads about our software have been created in the anti-virus section for the past few years, no matter whether or not we or one of our users created them.
