Hey skudo,

Are you using the Free or Pro version of Keriver1CR? ...and would you know the limitations of the Free version (as compared to the Pro version)?

Thanks,
Cruise

Keriver 1-Click Restore is an imaging program, so it will NOT save it's snapshots with C: ( or where system partition is installed)

I have K1C Pro. Wonderful and simple software.

YES, it can save the image to an external drive via USB 2.0. I don't have a 3.0 device, sorry. It also can not save to a network drive.

No signs of development at the site in almost a year (no new releases or beta) has me somewhat concerned.

I emailed Keriver a few days ago and said that it's still in development and they will support Windows 8

Hi, i have some question about the free version
  1. according to what skudo said in his post, i assume that with the free version we can't delete a snapshot?
  2. can we reset baseline snapshot with free version, if we can, did it delete all previous snapshot?

Of course we can do that...all images are in choosen folder and we can delete them...but we have to know that sometime full/baseline image can be in two parts so when we want to delete some concrete image we must be sure that we remove proper part/parts.
If we make image in console - we can't give it our own name like e.g "Look'n'Stop Mamutu WTF Firefox 13"...we can do that when we make image/snapshot from Windows but those names are invisible only in console.

Perhaps no, but I never tried to do this...it was simply not necessary

I don't do number 1 as inchito stated, I don't want to mess up my backups.
I always do number 2 every month.

Thanks for the answer, ichito and skudo.
Skudo, i thinks we can check the creation date to determine if two snapshot is create at same time, because i think we rarely create snapshot more than on a day for daily usage. I ask 2 question above because i have a big problem, thats i only have 60 GB harddrive, so i can keep a lot of snapshot, and only want to keep the importance once.

Sorry...I'm late with my screnshots becouse I was few minutes ago in other computer. Below there is the screenshots from Keriver console...we have date, own name of each image...the date is important, becouse in Windows...
Name: snapshots - console.jpg
Views: 378
Size: 65.8 KB
the name is invisible
Name: snapshots - file commander.jpg
Views: 379
Size: 32.7 KB
I sometime remove image...I think 4-6 is usefull and helpfull...in more older images we can have to many things to update.

Thanks for the pic, its confirm your statement.
From your first post, i tought that it will keep the snapshot name in explorer, and the naming problem only occur when create snapshot from recovery console.
But you confirm my assumptions, that we can determine if the is belongs to same snapshot by the date, and crosscheck its name from keriver console.

About 6, I think I've found a way to change the storage of snapshots without reinstalling the free version. First is to erase all your snapshots including the baseline and create a new "cold" snapshot (using the pre-boot). Keriver will ask you were you want to store the snapshot since it will think that it is the first time you are using Keriver. (I HAVE NOT TESTED IF IT WILL WORK.)

Skudo, I believe you are correct. When I tried 1CR free, I remember deleting the snapshot folder on my external drive, and next time I ran 1CR free, it asked again for device to store snap shots. So technically, if necessary, a user can change their storage medium, but not before snapshot files and folder are deleted.

I am very happy to read that Mr. River is still active with his products. i was also concerned that development may have been stopped. I am interested in Keriver Image, but have not proceeded to try it because I was concerned it was no longer developed. I have heard very good things about Keriver image, in addition to 1 click restore. i liked 1 CR free when I tried it, simple and to the point, although I would like the features of Image.

Thanks for the comments guys
