Default BOOTMGR is compressed

Today i saw two computers with this problem (win7): once you start you get the message: "BOOTMGR is compressed, Press ctrl+alt+del to restart". In one of them i used a win7 instalation disk to boot, and tried "bootrec /fixmbr" and "bootrec /fixboot" but it was useless.

Any ideia about what may cause this? Malware?
