pre release sigs and normal ones are they the same?

i have a few files i know are always flagged by ess i know what they are and know they are not actually malicious but after updating to the pre release updates they are no longer detected. which made me wonder if the sigs are the same i know the modules are updated for pre release but does pre release run different or more current sigs, hips etc?? just odd that before i updated to pre release they were detected and then immediately the same day i updated and ran them through eset again and no detections.
