I encrypt a couple of the data partitions and have several encrypted containers, using either PGP Disk or Blowfish.

I encrypt a few files with 7zip, which is 256 bit AES. I don't bother with Bitlocker anymore. I might use it (again) at some point.

Default Re: Do you encrypt your data?

You should have an option for "all hard drives". I literally encrypt every hard drive I own with the exception of one 16GB Flash drive for live linux distros.

Laptop is encrypted with LUKS/LVM + Encrypt home folder (Linux Mint 12)

Flash Drives Encrypted with either LUKS or TrueCrypt (depends if I need to mount them on non-linux machines or not).

1TB External HDD Encrypted with LUKS.

160GB HDD Encrypted with TrueCrypt

IronKey FlashDrive with hardware based AES-256 Bit Encryption with it's SecureFS encrypted with TrueCrypt Cascade.

KeePassX for passwords for websites (stored on the TC encrypted Volume on the IronKey; Yes 3 passwords to get to it.)

Multiple Volumes on my Laptop with TC. 1 Volume on my 1TB as an Offline backup.

I don't keep unecrypted memory even if the drive isn't being used. I encrypt everything as soon as I open it. =)

I actually "double" encrypt. I use Windows to encrypt the folder and its contents and then I individually encrypt each sensitive file.

You would need my Windows password and the archive passwords.

And KeePass.

I use AxCrypt for some files. I see no reason to encrypt HDD, slowing down PC to encrypt junk/common files. A container for a pagefile or a browser cache would be enough.

I use DiskCryptor to encrypt data partitions. I intend to implement FDE soon, probably with TrueCrypt. I also have a license for PGP Desktop, but I am unsure if all these encryption programs can run together.

How does it work, I mean hardware+software encryption? Everything running smoothly?

I was thinking of doing the same on an external HDD WD MyBook Essential but WD has some crappy software called SmartWare for it.

Runs perfectly. Essentails all the data written is encrypted with TC and ten the random data (encrypted data) from that is encrypted with the IronKey's hadware encryption.

Lot's of people on IronKeys forums do this. I have had no issues. You just have to be willing to enter 2 passwords every time to mount it.

No, never done it. I don't have anything that would warrant such a high degree of protection.

I was actually surprised at how little performance hit there was on my computer.
I'm considering using it again only because there's essentially no reason not to for me - on any modern hardware there really appears to be no performance hit.
